A Word about the DPA Uniform Policy

To standardize the notification to parents when a student has come to school out of the published dress code, we are implementing an Out of Uniform Notification for parents.  This process will apply for all students in K through 4th grades.  With each Progress Report the process will begin anew. The following steps will be taken by the teachers:

  • The first time a student comes to school out of uniform, an Out of Uniform Notice will be sent home with the child along with a copy of the page from the handbook stating the appropriate dress.

  • The same applies to the second time a student comes to school out of uniform.

  • On the third infraction, the student will be sent to the office until the appropriate uniform item(s) can be brought from home.

  • If a student has a fourth violation in one Progress Reporting cycle, he/she will serve a lunch detention and a parent conference will be arranged to discuss the difficulties with complying with the policy and to ascertain how the school can help.

We will begin this process on Monday, December 10th.

Propelled
by Paragon

Mosaica Education’s Paragon© Curriculum combines the rigor of classical education with the relevance required by contemporary society. Students learn about character, ethics, empathy and self-esteem implicitly by studying the world’s great heroes, both canonical and unsung, and by stepping into the shoes of great historical figures, both real and imaginary. Paragon looks to the past to prepare students to become the architects of tomorrow.
